Nicolee is a London based writer and director, working across music videos, commercials, and narrative films. Often influenced by her upbringing in Hong Kong, her work is grounded in textured visual and intimate storytelling, with a nod on themes surrounding food, memories, and modern relationships. She loves observing life in the city and the complexities of feeling it brings. As she shifts towards short and long-form fictional work, her goal is to create mixed-genre stories that are strong yet minimal, specific yet univerisal. She intends to preserve her culture through film, continually drawing inspiration from indie films and Asian cinema. By doing so, she hopes to invite challenging conversations beyond the screen.

Having honed her creative voice through music videos for artists such as Olivia Dean, Lola Young, and Nia Archives, Nicolee has since directed TVCs for global brands including Nike, Adidas, Coca Cola, KFC, Intel, Zalando, Mercedes, and Royal Enfield. She collaborated with Amelia Dimoldenberg, Lionesses, and Football Beyond Borders to create a short doc inspiring a new generation of women footballers. Her distinctive visual sensibility and nuanced approach to casting have earned her industry recognition, including a Shots Best Direction nomination, a Silver for Best Casting at Kinsale Shark Awards, a 1.4 shortlist and a Bronze at Shots Young Director of the Year, alongside being named Most Promising Commercial Director at the Creative Circle. Her work has been featured on platforms such as Nowness, Free The Work, Girls in Film, Galdem and Booooooom TV.
