Nicolee is a London based writer and director. working across music videos, commercials, and narrative films. Often influenced by her upbringing in Hong Kong, her work blends textured visual storytelling, bilingual languages, and humour with themes of love, relationships, and food. As she shifts towards short and long-form fictional work, her goal is to create stories that is universal and emotional resonant, strong yet minimal. She hopes to blends genre and cross cultures between the East and West, continually inspired by her love for indie films and Asian cinema.
Having honed her skills in music videos, collaborating with artists such as Olivia Dean, Lola Young, Nia Archives and Jianbo, Nicolee has since directed TVC for Nike, Royal Enfield, KFC, Mc Donald’s, Subway, Bed Head by TIGI as well as Zalando. Her film ‘Home Again’ for Brick Lane cafe HOKO has earned her a Shots Best Direction nomination, a 1.4 shortlist and a silver Best Casting win at Kinsale Shark Awards. She's won a Bronze in Shots young director of the year and as the most promising commerical director at the Creative Circle. Her work has been featured on Nowness, Free The Work, Videoclip Italia, Girls in Film, Galdem, Booooooom TV, among others.
